Film crew set up shooting a scene for an upcoming Stephen King mini series titled 'Haven'.
Where:
Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada
When:
A couple nights ago.
About:
OK, I know, I know... another friggin' Peggy's photo!!
Well, actually it's been almost 3 months since I posted a photo from there! I know, I couldn't believe it myself! :-)
So I took a drive the other night and got a little bonus! I was out on the road shooting the lighthouse with my zoom lens from across the cove and could see a big reflector/diffuser set up and a lot of people moving about. I was pretty sure something was being filmed but hadn't heard anything about it. Well of course I took a drive over and sure enough, this is what I saw.
I started chatting with I fellow that had a tripod and SLR setup. I figured he was just there like me taking photos of Peggy but turned out he was with the production crew and was doing their stills. Anyway, he told me that they were filming a 13 part mini series around town and down around the south shore. It's going to be called 'Haven'. I guess Nova Scotia is filling in for the fictional town of Haven, Maine? Pretty cool stuff!
I checked it out on the web at IMDB. Of course it is listed as filming but there as already some info there and links to the stars. I admit I didn't really recognize the stars names (Emily Rose & Eric Balfour) though. They both have been in many films & TV shows though.

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Cloudscapes - New Sweeper Active, and we'd love to have this added to the group!
Thank you for adding this beautiful image
to the gallery:Dances With Light.
wonderful work.
Sweeeeet! We could never tire of the PC shots, but the film crew certainly adds an element of interest which you never had in your other PC shots. Great work Dave.
you know, Id be happy if all you ever posted was Peggy's Cove scenes, its one of the prettiest places in the world. I will be in PEI this July, I think I'll take a drive with my wife and stay near by...any suggestions? Something romantic by the sea?
HOw exciting. Nice to see you Davey. I think you've finally found the right icon btw. I take Mike's word for it when he said you looked like a mental patient. He knows mental patients......really well!
this one is a bit different from the previous, usually there are no people, but here with the people I get a picture of the real size, great photo again Dave
your Peggy's images are always stunning...great exposure...multiples blended? NICE sky! I wonder how loong they will be there? looks like a fun place..anything cordoned off or can you just go on set yourself..you DO have that hugely goofy face on ..like popeye without his pipe!
i agree with Paul,we all love Peggy, though a certain someone does seem to have a slight Peggy obsession ;)
Wonderful shot mate and I just love that sky :)
Thanks so much for the wonderful comments everybody!
I'm not really sure if you guys were joking about cloning out the crew but actually it is the reason I setup this composition. I have more shots without people in them but I wanted to show the film crew.
I got a shot of a lady standing in the wind on top around the light. I was pretty stoked about getting that shot as you normally can't get out there. Will post later.
Thanks again...
This is fantastic image of lovely Peggy... but I think you should have taken out all those lousy folks over there with CS5 if you couldn't do it with a fire hose! I don't care about their movie. I hope they cleaned up the place after all their crap over there.

Seen on your photo stream.(?)
Great story Dave... if it's a 13-part miniseries, I bet you'll see them around town for awhile. I can certainly understand why they'd want to use the stunning wild beauty at Peggy's Cove for the setting. Brilliant shot Dave!
Well.........I guess that when, and IF, I ever get up there to your neck of the woods I will have to look you up and you take me there so I can post about 1000 photos of this place. Although I do find this shopt amusing with all of the people.
I would go back to the eye ball.
Reminds me of when I was at Acadia NP one morning back in 08 and a film crew was there shooting a film with ole Leo D. in it. Never saw him...just this idiot running around with a hand held radio telling me I had to leave????? HUH ????. I just waited a second or two and then said," DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO ???????. Sir, I will continue to shoot here as I wish, and when your ready to roll film I will get out of the way. The dude just spun around and left. I later was finishing up my shot and as I was leaving I waved to him and the crew. I bet they are still trying to figure out who the hell I was." I loved it"
